Stages

So, at work some of the sound stages are built for a purpose, like Stage 1 that was rebuilt to house The Tonight Show. That only lasted for 7 or 8 months then it sat empty for a couple of years. They even removed a bunch of stuff. Then rebuilt it for another show which has since gone off the air. I went for a walk through today and I hear there's something else coming along.

Working Late

Sometimes thing at work are just fubar and a cluster which means we have to work late. Today was one of those days, fortunately the late part was from home.

Safety First

When I got into technology I never imagined a hard hat and gloves would be standard issue in my job.

Phones

The other night I took a picture of my other phone. My team at work supports the ability for devices to connect back to work so I've got a couple of phones. I'm not sure why.

Phantom Of The Opera

This poster is in the elevator lobby of my building at work. One of the iconic Universal pictures. Just recently they tore down the original stage where they filmed in 1929. Supposedly they saved the opera house seats and walls for a museum, but who really knows for sure? We had our company Christmas party there a few years ago, I wish I had pictures of that.

Work From Home

Today was another work from home day. A beautiful day to be outside and get a lot of stuff done.

Quality Work

Some times I am amazed at what professionals try to pass of as acceptance work. This network closet was just redone by a cable vendor. I would think they would know how to make it look good. The excuse was, "we didn't have time. " well now they have to make the time to do it over.

Late Night In The Old Building

18 years ago I worked in a site off of this hallway. I still refer to this building as "the promised land". It is the home of Universal Pictures, or at least the cave part of the building where they keep the IT people.

A Mess

For work today I got to set up a new office location for NBC Sports.a nice getaway from the office for a day.

The cool part of Jaws Lake is the diver getting pulled under and the dock that explodes as it gets pulled out to sea... oh and the animatronic shark.

The Valley

Looking east from the upper lot at Universal. Some days is good to be outside.

UDS

Late night weekend project to upgrade the network. It was like getting the band back together with two great people I've worked with for nearly 15 years.

Clouds and Rain

It was cloudy today, rain a bit in the morning. They had flooding out in the desert. We really just had heart and humidity, but it made for a good picture of one entrance to work.

Kong

I've been spending a lot of time at work up at CityWalk. A lot of people go there on vacation, I go there because that's what I do.

Big Blue Wall

There's a big blue wall at work that they use for making movie magic. I've see it in movies like The Truman Show and seen them filming Pirates Of The Caribbean 3. Near it is the cabin from The Great Outdoors. Sometimes they fill the area in front of it up with water to make a lake.

New Office

So, I got a promotion at work. One of the benefits is an office. With a window.
