I saw this on the way to work today. Fishing while driving could cause problems.

Like A Mirror

Saw a Rolls Royce today. Not quite as cool looking as the old ones but it was clean and shiny. I saw on Commediens In Cars Getting Coffee that Jerry commented about how awful of a car the old Rolls really are with their 44 foot turning radius and uncomfortable ride.

Hood Ornament

I really don't know what this is supposed to be. Stew and I went to get some lunch and saw this truck in an alley with this crazy sided thing attacked top the hood...and an alien.

Rocket Car

I saw this on the freeway this afternoon. I'm really not sure what it is. Seemed like some kind of '60s future vision of a rocket  car Corvette.

Yellow Brakes

Usually when I see a Porsche the brake calipers are red. Today I saw yellow.

Soft Serve

A friend of mine speaks of putting her mouth under a soft serve dispenser. That would be the ultimate comfort food.

Side Step

We took the Jeep out to get dirty this last weekend and had a great time. Drove up and down some hills, over some rocks and tested my driving skills. I think I did OK. My friend Al thought so too. Didn't break anything, so that was a bonus. Then we were having lunch by the lake and I stepped up on the side step running board, and with a little jump on it, the whole thing broke off. That was rather disappointing. Turns out the thing is made of plastic and the metal threaded inserts just pulled right out.

Al said, "check out the Smittybilt steps, good price, look good and they are solid" so I did after we got home. The price seemed decent so I ordered them Sunday afternoon and they arrived Tuesday. On they went. They do look good and the mounting brackets look much stronger than the stock ones.

I will talk to the dealer about the poor quality of the originals.

Finally took a run around the backlot again. I came across some cars being used for a movie.

I don't think they are going to be driven.

Pantera - Ghia

Last Sunday I saw the Pantera club. The cars had a few different badges.

Pantera

Came across these cars today at the park. Turns out the Foothill Pantera club was having a picnic. I knew nothing about the cars but apparently they were only imported into the US from 1971-1973, and the put some mighty Ford V8s in them.

There were about 15 of them ranging from a green as close to stock as you will find to some highly modified.

Porsche

At one time these were just a fancy Volkswagen.
