Off Road

Took the scouts out to the desert to Calico. We saw a group of Jeeps stirring up dust.

The Sun Shines Through

Today was the first day it's been real cloudy and there was a high chance of rain. As I stopped at the grocery store I looked up and saw rays of sunlight coming through a hole in the clouds.

Light On The Hill

So, this is where we go to church for the past few years. You can see the building as it sits up on the hill from the freeway. My daughter says, that's the way it should be, "like a light on the hill."

Hillside

Some days I look up at the hills as I get into the car and just think,  "wow!"

The Valley

Looking east from the upper lot at Universal. Some days is good to be outside.

Sunset

Tonight it seems a lot of people I know saw and commented I the sunset. Not just here in Southern California but up north in Vancouver BC and east in Las Vegas. It was beautiful, God did amazing things tonight. I got to spend some time with my nephew, I think I've missed some opportunities over the past few years and now it's time to try to make things right. I'm not real sure how that's going to happen but it's time.

Saturday Morning

I love Saturday morning at the dog park. It reminds me of living in Orange County and a lot of life hadn't happened yet.

Labor Day Ride

My friend Sean and I went for an early ride today. It was a new place for me with a nice combination of fire road and single track trail. A loop with uphill fir the first half and a fun downhill on the way back. The view at the top was spectacular up above the smog.

Dinosaur

For 46 years I've driven by the dinosaurs of Cabazon and never stopped. Finally yesterday I did.

Yucca Bowl

this had been the "new" Yucca Bowl since the 1980's

Sunrise

The moon was a sliver of itself this morning as the sun rose.

Big Blue Wall

There's a big blue wall at work that they use for making movie magic. I've see it in movies like The Truman Show and seen them filming Pirates Of The Caribbean 3. Near it is the cabin from The Great Outdoors. Sometimes they fill the area in front of it up with water to make a lake.

Fountain

They rebuilt the Monrovia Public Library a number of years ago and it included a new park with a big fountain. Across the street is the 4th Dimension where I used to go play pool with my brother.

Pineapple

Our neighbor has this palm tree, it looks a little like a pineapple. It's part of the scenery when I sit out by the pool.

Buildings and Signs

This is where I spend my days, sometimes it wonder for how long. So far it's been 18 years.

Palomar Observatory

When I was about 10 or so my grandparents took me on vacation, we visited San Diego, The Zoo, The Wild Animal Park and Palomar Mountain Observatory.

 

I went back to Palomar today.

Engine Company No. 2

I love walking and running around the backlot. There are places I recognize from movies and places my imagination runs.

My mind can see the the antique fire trucks coming out of the station.

Clouds

These whispy clouds caught my eye.

They almost have the look of someone being transported on Star Trek.

Jack Jack Jack A Randa

May and June in Southern California the jacaranda trees bloom. There is purple everywhere. It's a sign of life.
