Adam

So, God created us to be in community with him. He created us to have companionship, he created us to have community with others. He created us to have community and dominion (care taking, not domination) over creation. He created us to have a community or right relationship with ourselves. 

When our relationship with God is affected, so are each of the others.

The curse isn't the way it's supposed to be, or said another way, just because things are the way they are doesn't mean that's the way God wanted it.

Stones

I remember driving through ranch land in Utah when I was young and seeing stacks of rocks. I was told they were sheep herder stones, built by bored sheep herders. Seems someone is bored down in the wash by the house.

Sunday Ride

Listened to music on my ride today. "Stop this train", there's no stopping it, does it get easier if we just accept that?

Camp Trask

My brother took his son to Camp Trask when he was little, I took my son there as well. I've heard stories that my grandfather took my uncles.

This weekend I was there with both my nephew and my son. One of the best and at the same time hardest moments was having my picture taken with the boys.

Bike Ride

Went for a bike ride in Long Beach, there was palm trees and sunshine.

Uncle Leo is starting to show signs of age, but he still loves the dog park.

My friend was installed as the "Evelyn and Frank Freed Chair of the Integration of Psychology and Theology, Department of Psychology, School of Psychology", you kind of need a comfortable chair after just saying that.

He Is Risen

Today my little girl was baptized. Some friends made this for her to remember the day.

Baptized on Easter Sunday.

Stream

A stream ran near our campsite. The soothing sound of running water.

Simpler Times

The boy and I went overnight backpacking. This was on the table where we camped. Seemed fitting in a canyon that had cabins back in the early 1900's.

A beautiful day in movie land

Nothing says "Hollywood" like a beautiful blue sky, palm trees and sound stages.

Electric Vehicle

I saw this car and had no idea what it was. It said "electric vehicle" so maybe is some trying to challenge Tesla in the high end, green, "economy" vehicle.

Tongue

If Lacy doesn't trip on her ears she might just trip on her tongue.

Blood on the highway

After five years of wearing minimal shoes, running sandals or running barefoot I finally kicked something and drew blood.

The kids and I went to church workday and did some painting. Mostly we were painting gates but there was an arrow in the driveway that needed some work as well.

1728 Olympic

Back in the very early 1990's I worked at Nova Records, a small company that specialized in contemporary, or what I called "happy jazz". I wasn't really into the music but it was a job to get a start. 

When I started at Nova we were in a small office space above a club in Westwood we grew and moved to a building in Santa Monica, it was kinda dumpy and not a great neighborhood but we sold some records. Nova is long gone now and now Olympic Blvd. has changed to a center for media and production companies.

The streets of New York are empty, the sky is clear.... Perfect zombie weather.

Today I took some scouts to an open house at a veteranary school. The boys earned the Veteranary Scienc merit badge and learned a bit. We saw a police dog demonstration.
