The Sun Shines Through

Today was the first day it's been real cloudy and there was a high chance of rain. As I stopped at the grocery store I looked up and saw rays of sunlight coming through a hole in the clouds.

Some Things Take Your Breath Away

I walked out the door toss evening and saw this. It took my bean away. And a picture doesn't do it justice.

29 Years

So, 29 Years ago I bought this bass and thought I'd learn how to play. It seems at times I've played better than others all depending how much I wad putting into it. Some day I will be pretty good.

We Love Uncle Rog

For the past five years we have gone to the Hirshberg Foundations' LA Cancer Challenge fund raiser 5k/10k. The first two years my brother, Roger, joined us, then we went in his honor and memory. They have a banner to write on, and they have all the past names on display every year. The first year wr went Junia wrote, "We love Uncle Rog". I found it today and if made me smile.

Beware Of The Ponies

We went to a pumpkin patch that had pony rides. Do kids like ponies because they are dangerous?

Was it really necessary

Was it really necessary to make a second?

Light On The Hill

So, this is where we go to church for the past few years. You can see the building as it sits up on the hill from the freeway. My daughter says, that's the way it should be, "like a light on the hill."

Exit

A friend of mine is opening a Chick-fil-a restaurant and we went to a special premier opening. They had food samples and even someone in a cow suit with a sign that read, "eat mor chickn". But it was the exit sign that I found amusing.

Quality Work

Some times I am amazed at what professionals try to pass of as acceptance work. This network closet was just redone by a cable vendor. I would think they would know how to make it look good. The excuse was, "we didn't have time. " well now they have to make the time to do it over.

Fall Festival

Every year the kids school has their Fall Festival . In the past the wife has say in the dunk tank and the kids envoy the activities. Today was another beautiful day with yard games, bouncy hisses and carnival games.

Late Night In The Old Building

18 years ago I worked in a site off of this hallway. I still refer to this building as "the promised land". It is the home of Universal Pictures, or at least the cave part of the building where they keep the IT people.

5 Strings

I've been trying to play my bass for a few minutes every day and having pretty good success. I'm working on melodic harmonization for bass guitar and loving chords on bass.

Another Day

So I spent the day today with the boy who was home from school after spending 7 1/2 hours at the ER last night and into this morning with abdominal pain. They didn't really find anything and want us to monitor how he does. Today we went to our normal doctor and got a similar plan. So the boy and I stayed around the house and were mellow. Quite the change from the boy that was jumping in the pool this past weekend.

Mini Donut

Because nothing says everything will be OK like a mini donut.

Bass Fishing

I picked up this book and DVD about a year ago and started learning chords on bass. It was put aside for a while but I just got it back out and it is cool! Some basic ideas on playing melody and harmony on bass.

Rewind

I was in a parking structure this evening and saw this. Immediately I wondered what it would rewind. What would it deploy?

Love Walk

Our church has an amazing program for families that have children with special needs.  These families are embraced, welcomed and supported. Today was a fund raising event so some of them can go to camp. There was even this guy showing support.

Post Season

Mark invited me to the opening game of the Angels division championship series. He's a pretty big Angels fan, I enjoy going to a game. I think the Angels were the first big league game I went to back in the early 70's,that may be the last time I was at this stadium.

Beach Ball

Junior High students. A gym. A beach ball.
