Hood Ornament

I really don't know what this is supposed to be. Stew and I went to get some lunch and saw this truck in an alley with this crazy sided thing attacked top the hood...and an alien.

For work today I got to set up a new office location for NBC Sports.a nice getaway from the office for a day.

City Of Hope

My friends dad had surgery yesterday at City Of Hope, it's one of the top hospitals in the country for the treatment of prostate cancer. We are hoping they are really that good. I love seeing the tags in the trees paved but people with hope.

Performance VW

A friend from scouts holds an event every year that he calls The Internal Combustion Festival where he invites a bunch of people he knows that have some type of performance auto. I don't think my 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid really fits the bill, but I got an invite. He holds it at his shop that is right across from the old Irwindale Speedway that existed in the 1960s up until 1976,now there is a large brewery there. Dave had the original sign.

Late Night

Late night project at work...the cubes are empty.

Fire

The cool part of Jaws Lake is the diver getting pulled under and the dock that explodes as it gets pulled out to sea... oh and the animatronic shark.

The Valley

Looking east from the upper lot at Universal. Some days is good to be outside.

5 Points, TX

I went for a golf cart ride around the back lot today just to escape. I'm not really sure what I was escaping form. I ended up in the old west, at Five Points, where 5 old west streets come together. I used to run on the back lot, sometimes to run from work and sometimes to run from life. Sometimes just to run and be healthy.  Sometimes I don't know what I'm running from. I guess that's most of the time.

Merit Badges

The boy had a Court Of Honor at scouts tonight. A time to honor all the work and fun the boys have had over the past few months. There were 178 total badges earned since June and my bit earned 10 of them. The merit bashes are a way of marking the journey, stopping to experience it and not rush through with only the destination in mind.

Night Ride

Went for a night time ride with Sean. As usual a great time, both for the ride and the chat along the way. Sean is also my bike mechanic and brought my coaster brake Schwinn back and took my mountain bike for some needed adjustments.

Fishing

Went deep sea fishing with the Boy Scouts. We headed out towards Catalina Island as far as the oil derricks. There was a sea lion playing in the water near our boat a lot of the time.

Not many people caught fish even though I provided some extra bait with last night's dinner going overboard.
